Our community charity portfolio keeps growing: in the third vote you chose Main Street Capital – the stock is now in the portfolio. On top of that, the first dividend arrived in September, and like every dividend from this portfolio it will be donated in full. In this update we look into the portfolio on Parqet: which positions have made it in so far, how it has all developed and how much dividend we can already expect. After that it's your turn again – with suggestions for the next purchase.

How the charity portfolio works
Briefly, for everyone who's new: a few months ago I started this community charity portfolio together with you. The rules are simple:
- I invest my own money – at least €1,000 every month
- You decide what gets bought: you suggest dividend stocks, the three most-mentioned go into the community vote, and the winning stock is bought
- All dividends are donated, 100% – and where to, we decide together as well
The entire portfolio is publicly viewable at any time: at finlen.de/spenden-depot.
The portfolio today: three positions, €3,288.50
Here's how the charity portfolio looks right now – shared via Parqet*:
The numbers at a glance, as of 7 October 2026:
- Portfolio value: €3,288.50
- Invested: €3,539.13 – spread across three purchases
- Price development: −€250.63, or 7.08% in the red
- Dividends: €8.07 – the first one is here
In the video I mention the €3,288.50 in the same breath as the €1,000 per month – what's meant is the current portfolio value; the amount invested is €3,539.13. For comparison: in the September update the portfolio value was still €2,213.75.
Yes, the portfolio is currently in the red. After such a short time that says nothing at all, though: the first purchase was only a good two months ago, and the project is meant to run for years.

New in the portfolio: Main Street Capital
The newcomer you picked last month is Main Street Capital. In the vote it beat buying more McDonald's and buying Waste Management. I bought it on 21 September 2026 for €1,229.88 – that's 25 shares. Main Street Capital is a US business development company (BDC) that pays its dividend monthly; you'll find the detailed comparison of the three candidates in the article on the third vote.
This is how the portfolio is now split across the three stocks:
- Main Street Capital: €1,230.00 (37.40%) – 25 shares, +€0.12 or +0.01%. So flat so far
- McDonald's: €1,042.00 (31.69%) – 5 shares, −€122.25 or −10.50%. In return, the first dividend has already arrived here
- VICI Properties: €1,016.50 (30.91%) – 50 shares, −€128.50 or −11.22%
So McDonald's and VICI Properties are well in the red so far, while Main Street Capital sits practically exactly at its purchase price.
All purchases so far
The activity list shows the portfolio's history so far at a glance:
- 27 July 2026: purchase of McDonald's for €1,164.25 – the winner of the first vote
- 17 August 2026: purchase of VICI Properties for €1,145.00 – the winner of the second vote
- 16 September 2026: the first dividend – €8.07 from McDonald's
- 21 September 2026: purchase of Main Street Capital for €1,229.88
McDonald's was the July purchase, VICI Properties the August one. And although I talk about "the first dividends" at the start: so far it's exactly one.
Now we're collecting your suggestions for the October purchase – more on that below.
Dividend calendar: a dividend every month from now on
The most exciting view is the dividend calendar. With Main Street Capital now on board, this portfolio really does have a dividend every month:
- September 2026: McDonald's – the portfolio's first dividend. €8.07 was booked; the calendar lists it at €8.11
- October 2026: VICI Properties €20.47 and Main Street Capital €5.89 – €26.36 together, already a bit more
- November 2026: Main Street Capital €5.89
- December 2026: McDonald's €8.59 and Main Street Capital €5.89 – €14.48 together
The amounts for the coming months are estimates by Parqet.
How the dividends are donated
With the charity portfolio it works like this: I invest my money – but the dividends are donated by all of us together, and we also decide together where the money goes.
- The first donation happens in December. Because not that much will have come together by then, I'll round the amount up
- In 2027 donations will probably happen quarterly
- Monthly later on: once €200 to €300 per month in dividends comes in at some point, we'll switch to a monthly rhythm
So the plan for the next three months is: keep buying, collect dividends – and then make the first donation in December. The project is meant to run for years. The snowball will keep growing, and at some point we'll be able to do some real good with this portfolio.
Dividend outlook: just under €55 in 2026, €209.04 in 2027
For 2026, just under €55 is forecast as things stand. Another one or two purchases will be added, maybe even three – so depending on when the new stocks pay out, it can still become more.
For 2027, €209.04 is already in the calendar as things stand:
Here you can see nicely how the payouts are spread: monthly from Main Street Capital, plus the quarterly payers VICI Properties and McDonald's. In some months Main Street Capital appears twice in the calendar – those are the special dividends that come on top of the monthly dividend. For comparison: in the September update, only €116.07 was in the calendar for 2027. And the €209.04 doesn't include a single further purchase yet either.
You can check all of this yourself at any time – directly at finlen.de/spenden-depot or via my website: under Portfolios you'll find the dividend charity portfolio alongside my dividend, crypto and P2P portfolios.
Now it's your turn: suggestions for the next purchase
The next vote is coming up soon – and for that I need your suggestions:
- Make suggestions: write in the comments under the current video which dividend stocks you find interesting right now. Whole lists are welcome – five, six, seven stocks are perfectly fine
- Determine the top 3: I'll present the three most-mentioned stocks in detail next week, or the week after at the latest
- Vote: then comes the community vote – and we decide together which stock goes into the charity portfolio next, for at least €1,000
They should be stocks with a dividend focus. But they can also be names that don't have a 5 to 6% dividend yield yet and are growing strongly instead – the portfolio is built for the future, and the donations will keep flowing in the future too.
You'll find all articles in the series in the Charity Portfolio category – from the concept through the three stock votes (first stock, second stock, third stock) to the updates from August and September. See you at the next vote!

Frequently asked questions
Which stock is new in the community charity portfolio?
Main Street Capital. The stock won the third community vote – against buying more McDonald's and against Waste Management. I bought it on 21 September 2026 for €1,229.88, which puts 25 shares in the portfolio.
How does the community charity portfolio stand right now?
As of 7 October 2026 the portfolio value is €3,288.50 against €3,539.13 of invested capital – €250.63, or 7.08%, in the red. It holds three positions: Main Street Capital €1,230.00 (37.40%), McDonald's €1,042.00 (31.69%) and VICI Properties €1,016.50 (30.91%). Prices fluctuate during the day.
Which stocks have been bought for the charity portfolio so far?
Three purchases, one per month: McDonald's on 27 July 2026 for €1,164.25, VICI Properties on 17 August 2026 for €1,145.00 and Main Street Capital on 21 September 2026 for €1,229.88. Together that's €3,539.13.
How much dividend has the charity portfolio generated so far?
One dividend has arrived so far: €8.07 gross from McDonald's on 16 September 2026. For the whole of 2026 the dividend calendar currently shows just under €55, for 2027 already €209.04 – with no further purchases counted in yet. The future figures are estimates by Parqet.
Why is there a dividend every month now?
Because Main Street Capital pays monthly. McDonald's and VICI Properties pay quarterly – together with Main Street, there is at least one payment in the calendar in every month from October 2026 onwards.
When will the first donation be made?
In December 2026. More purchases and dividends will be added until then, and I'll round the amount up. In 2027 donations will probably happen quarterly; once €200 to €300 per month comes in at some point, we'll switch to monthly. Where the money goes, we decide together.
How can I suggest a stock for the next purchase?
Write your favourites in the comments under the video – a whole list of five, six or seven stocks is welcome too. They should be dividend-focused stocks; that can include names with a low yield today but strong growth. The three most-mentioned go into the community vote.
Where can I follow the charity portfolio live?
At finlen.de/spenden-depot the portfolio is shared publicly via Parqet – with all positions, purchases and dividends. Alternatively you'll find it on my website under Portfolios.
